Hydraulic Gearbot Description
Hydraulic gearbots are not common, but making one yourself is an interesting project and provides hours of entertainment.
The Hydraulic Gearbot is a creative mix of science, gears, art and throwing things. It combines Rube Goldberg's outrageous machine designs with Leonardo da Vinci's gear mechanisms.
As you build your gearbot, learn about levers, gears and simple machines. All it takes is a little push of a syringe to set the gears in motion. The kit also includes information about all the different gears used.
The Hydraulic Gearbot is powerful enough to knock down small brick walls. The great thing is it's still safe enough to throw popcorn into your friends' mouths.

Your assembled gearbot will measure approx. 330 x 660mm.

He is showing real potential in design and technology. They were doing a unit on hydraulics. I thought for his birthday to get him another model to further extend him. He thoroughly enjoyed creating the first model. He was so very proud of it. It was at his level yet provided challenge snd extension. I do hope he enjoys this model just as much. I also ordered the da Vinci helicopter for his Christmas present. I would like to find a book about da Vinci’s inventions to accompany it. Can you suggest any suitable. Matthew is 13 and in year 6.
